The teachers and the staff pushed me to become more self-confident through presentations and class discussions, and always encouraged me to think outside the box and be open minded. Through the service learning extracurricular activities that I attended and the visits to the orphanage, ASD supported me in pursuing my passion of helping others and positively contributing to the local community.

The Advanced Placement Courses I took at ASD prepared me very well for my first year university courses, especially AP Calculus. Calculus in my first year of university was very easy for me and I got an A+. At ASD, seeking to earn honor roll made me subconsciously compete against my classmates for the highest GPA and being valedictorian of my senior class made me gain the self-confidence I needed to be successful in university.

The service learning opportunities at ASD taught me the importance of being compassionate towards members of my community and now in the university, I volunteer with marginalized communities. I always knew I wanted to be a doctor and ASD supported me in this endeavour. I am currently applying to medical school and when I become a physician, I will be able to positively contribute to the global community.

My favorite memories of ASD include community events such as Cameroonian Week, Talent Show, Prom, and International Festival. I feel my AP classes prepared me well for college; I had great professors at ASD.

ASD's cultural diversity prepared me for college. College is all about meeting new people and new experiences. Throughout the years, I've watched the school grow over time but I feel like the biggest thing which hasn't changed is the sense of community and family that stays with the school.

ASD developed me into a caring, positive, generous, confident and attentive student.

With all this experience I learned how to be open minded and supportive of any good ideas for our community.
